Please submit to the city council for the Delano Project rehearing.
To the Mayor and City Council Members;
I want to remind the city council, yet again, that N Dashwood Place was designated and accepted as a closed cul de sac
from the very beginning of Alpine Pointe. The historical and documented record is very clear on this point of fact, law,
and accepted and filed plats.
For the city of Meridian to ex post facto open up this closed cul de sac as a major through way is an illegal taking. That
is, it destroys the financial value of people who have invested their money in purchasing and upgrading homes within
and along the cul de sac; many who bought within a cul de sac for physical and medical reasons.
The Delano team agreed to continue to keep N Dashwood Place closed and it is the city of Meridian who continuously
tries to open it up as a major through way. This is illegal and opens the city up to a lawsuit to recover the financial
damages to the residents of Alpine Pointe. P&Z Staff are very wrong in their pursuit of this opening based on an
incorrect interpretation of current regulations, and completely disregarding the historical record.
I would strongly urge the city council to continue to keep N Dashwood Place as it is – a closed cul de sac -- and avoid
litigation and the potential of millions of dollars in payments to damaged residents of Alpine Pointe.
