One of the things we love about our home is that it is located in a quiet well-maintained subdivision. But we fear that the traffic will increase if N Dashwood Place is opened up for Delano traffic. We understand and accept the growth of our city and the development of infill parcels. What we are opposed to, is the opening of N Dashwood Place for Delano traffic, commercial traffic, high density traffic and cut-through traffic. This will bring in 1000 extra vehicle trips into our subdivision. These cars will also drive through our neighborhood to exit onto McMillan Road. This will destroy our quality of life and put our children, grandchildren, walkers, pets and bicyclists at greater risk. The best option would be to route all the Delano traffic through Jasmine Lane out to Eagle Road or through N. Centerpointe Way and onto Ustick Road. Even routing this traffic through Centerpointe Way will not meet the acceptable ACHD traffic count thresholds for Centerpointe Way. Right now, traffic already stacks up at the light on Wainwright and Eagle Road and there is not enough room for very many (more than 6) cars to wait. It’s already a mess even without the added Delano traffic. There have been many accidents at this intersection. We are also concerned about the density transition to the bordering neighbors of Alpine Point and the proposed R-40 high density annexation of the Cook Parcel (3 to 4 stories in the renderings). Thank you for your consideration of these traffic and safety concerns to our Alpine Point Subdivision and quality of life that we enjoy in the City of Meridian.
