Roll Call x_Jessica Peters, Subcommittee Chair __ Logan Cloninger x_ Lizzie Taylor x_ Jenifer Cavaness-Williams 2. Confirm Two New Artwork for Traffic Box Wraps A. Belnap informed the Subcommittee that two of the five artwork pieces selected for traffic box wraps are no longer available for wrapping. The Subcommittee then reviewed the two pieces of artwork that have the next- most votes during the selection process and approved them for wrapping. Casey Curr, Comets Inbound Brittany Bishop, Sawtooth Lake 3. Results of the West Ada School District Artwork Selection Process A. Belnap informed the Subcommittee of the artwork that received the most votes during the West Ada School District Selection. The Subcommittee approved the awards. Elementary: Leana Tackett, "Peaceful Night" Elementary runner up: Toni Reyna, "Sunshine Moonlight" Middle: Aeryn Waterman, "In the mind of a teenage woman." HS 2D: Kamden Prock, "Moonlight" HS Photography: Veronica Willard, "Flower art" HS 3D: Maria Rom, "Red Figure Vessel" 4. Re-evaluate the Timeline for the Mural Series Project To develop, advance and nurture all facets of the arts to enhance the quality of life for Meridian residents and its visitors a. Request for Statements of Interest Deadline b. Release of the Request for Proposals A. Belnap reported that one Statement of Interest has been received. The Subcommittee discussed extending the deadline to give businesses more time to consider. After reviewing the calendar, the Subcommittee decided to extend the Statement of Interest Deadline to 11:59pm on September 6th. The mural location selection process will then take place on S eptember 17th. The Subcommittee also discussed physically approaching businesses that have large walls and informing them about the opportunity to apply to the mural project. A. Belnap will send the Subcommittee members the updated Statement of Interest form, a flier, and social media posts. 5. Introduce the Idea of Instituting (Park)ing Day Project J. Peters informed the Subcommittee about the Park(ing) Day project and started the discussion. The other Subcommittee members offered that there is too much going on right now and would prefer to revisit this idea next year. 6. Update: Public Art Plan Progress and Timeline J. Peters informed the Subcommittee that she and A. Belnap had checked in with Meridith McKinley. Meridith is wrapping up interviews with various leaders and City employees then will provide a report to workshop in the next Commission meeting in August. 7.
