Hello Planning Committee,
I would like to echo all of the same concerns that have been submitted in opposition to this development at this
time which can be found on your website
here https://weblink.meridiancity.org/WebLink/Browse.aspx?id=188531&dbid=0&repo=MeridianCity
There is simply too much traffic between Franklin Rd and Cherry Rd at this time. Cramming another 27 units
into this area would be a major safety hazard to our families and quality of life.
With a bus stop at Pine and Black Cat, the railroad tracks, Compass Public Charter school, the slight rise on the
North side of Pine driving on Black Cat, there are enough hazards in this area already. You have seen the
devastation at Cherry and Black Cat's intersection the last few years haven't you? This west side of Meridian is
simply getting too dense without the proper road infrastructure to build such a small, crammed in development.
In time it may be developed, I understand that, but now is not the time. Pine not going all the way through to
Ten Mile is a blessing to the communities on this side of Ten Mile because it keeps the traffic off of Pine and
Black Cat directly which would endanger many lives because they are such small roads.
While development is necessary, is it not possible to put a community garden there, or small community center
or pool, or something that will be an open space for the surrounding communities to enjoy to keep the view of
the road from Pine to the railroad tracks more visible for safety concerns?
Thank you for your time and consideration,
Norm Schurdell
I live on Biltmore Ave. off of Pine Ave.
