Hi Chris, Thank you for getting back to me so quickly. Here are some questions that were asked at the neighborhood meeting with Penelope Riley. To my knowledge, we have not heard back. Residential wells- Apple Valley Sub: Will the project impact our wells on the properties in Apple Valley Sub? Will our water pressure be affected? Will the water table be affected? Will any of the construction create increased stress on our well pumps? If this project causes problems with our wells in Apple Valley Sub, how would it be remedied? Artesian well/irrigation system in Apple Valley Sub - How might the project affect the artesian well and the irrigation system in our subdivision? Apple Valley residents have livestock and farming that is dependent on irrigation water. Livestock: Apple Valley Sub is zoned for rural and livestock. Our subdivision has approximately 16 homes, each with approx 4 acres each. There are chickens, goats, sheep, horses, cattle, etc on the properties. We are concerned the noise of the construction and the high density housing will affect our livestock and our quiet quality of life. We are concerned that residents who purchase the new homes will complain about our livestock and our rural lifestyles. How will these concerns be addressed? Flooding- Our irrigation and drainage system throughout Apple Valley Sub is complex. Will the project disrupt our drainage and cause flooding? If so, how will it be remedied? Traffic- We already have an increased amount of traffic due to the projects at McMillan / McDermott. When was the last traffic study completed on McDermott between Mcmillan and Ustick? Should an updated study be completed? How many cars are projected after completion of the project? Is the increased traffic reasonable for residents who chose to reside in Apple Valley for its quiet and rural lifestyle? Thank you! There will be nobody present at City Hall. Anyone wishing to view the meeting can see it online at https://meridiancity.org/live. The complete agenda for tonight’s meeting can be found here: https://meridian.novusagenda.com/agendapublic/MeetingView.aspx?MeetingID=791&MinutesMeetin gID=-1&doctype=Agenda If you would like to participate in the meeting, you will have the opportunity to address the Commission after the applicant has presented the application to the commissioners. The chair will ask if there is anyone “wishing to testify”, and you can speak up to three minutes per person at that time. She will call on you when it is your turn. To participate in the meeting, you can join one of two ways: 1. Join through your computer or tablet at https://us02web.zoom.us/j/81431478334 2. Join by phone by calling (669) 900-6833. When prompted, enter the webinar ID, which is 814 3147 8334 When asked if anyone wants to provide testimony, either press the “Raise Hand” button if joining by computer, or press *9 if joining by phone. Comments can be sent in regarding the application at any time. I cannot guarantee the commission will have the opportunity to review, but once a recommendation is made to City Council, and it is scheduled for a City Council Hearing, Council members will review every piece of information. 2 Written testimony may be submitted prior to the hearing date either by mail or in person to Meridian City Clerk, 33 E. Broadway Suite 104, Meridian, Idaho 83642 or by email to cityclerk@meridiancity.org, by voicemail at 208-288-5607, or by texting the word “Comment” to 31996. All information related to the project is available at https://weblink.meridiancity.org/WebLink/Browse.aspx?id=180893&dbid=0&repo=MeridianCity. If you receive an error at that link, try again in 5-10 minutes. There are limited licenses, and if too many people are viewing at once, you receive an error. Please let me know if I can help you locate any information. I did a very, very quick review, and did not see answers to the questions you and your neighbors have. I am hopeful it is there, but the hearing process is your opportunity to get those questions answered. Remember that the Planning and Zoning Commission is a volunteer commission that makes recommendations to City Council. Whatever happens this evening is not the final action. City Council will make a decision after a public hearing. That hearing will be noticed by a new sign at the subject property, postcards, and a new publication in the Meridian Press. We also list them on our website at https://apps.meridiancity.org/CLERKSCONTENT/pubhearnot_detail.aspx. I hope the experience this evening with our virtual meeting format is not too painful. I am looking forward to the time we can all be back in City Hall, meeting our neighbors. When that happens, please say hello. Chris Johnson City Clerk | City of Meridian 33 E.
