As this issue you describe will likely come before the City Council and I as part of a public hearing, I – as well as Council – are not able to make comments regarding the land use issue outside of that process. I have copied our City Clerk to this email so that your email and this response can be included as part of the record should this item move forward. We were informed when we purchased our home that there would be homes going in on that land and possibly a small strip mall. We recently found out that they now are proposing 204 apartments, 52 townhouses and 125 houses with no road improvements, just a 1 signal light on the corner. The YMCA which is located on the same street is also in the process of adding an Aquatic Park with water slide, lazy river and multiple pools. As we all know the traffic is already an issue being so close to Eagle Rd. Schools? No plan of new schools. They said that they will bus the kids out. Kids should be able to attend school where they live. I don't understand how this is build is even being considered. As it is right now, my granddaughter eats her lunch sitting on the cafeteria floor because there is no room. And this is a new school. We understand that we can't stop progress but we would ask that you PLEASE consider going back to the original plan of just single family homes and "maybe" a small strip mall (preferably just houses). Thank you for your time. Sincerely, Alan & Kathy Harris 4066 E. Tenant Dr Meridian, ID 83642 2
