Steve – your private streets are approved. Be sure all roadways are signed “No Parking Fire Lane”. Same with the turn
around on Navigation Rd. The streets where they dead end need to be signed as well.
The secondary access shall be protected by knock over bollards:
Secondary emergency access routes shall be protected from illegal entry by a gate or collapsible bollards as set forth in IFC
503.5. An example would be the MaxiForce Collapsible bollards that is hydrant wrench activated or an approved equal.
The access shall be able to hold 80,000 pounds, be an all weather surface and be maintained at all times.

Here is a project that we Pre-app’d a while back and we are getting ready to submit to the City, and as a
requirement of the private road application it asks that we get fire approval for the width. Could you
please review the attached and reply to this e-mail if it is acceptable. We have a 24’ wide paved surface
with rolled curb and gutter and 4’ sidewalks on either side, see attached map.
If you need anything else please let me know.
