Good Afternoon Rachel,
Thank you for providing comments on a potential project next to your subdivision. At this time, the City does
not have a formal application for this specific property. If/when the application is submitted to the City and
you are within 300’ of the project boundary, you will receive notification from the City of the public hearing
date and the property owner will be responsible to place public hearing signs along all street frontages. Public
testimony will be welcomed at that time.
Sincerely,
Bill Parsons, AICP | Planning Supervisor City of Meridian | Community Development Dept.

Subject: Concerns about apartment complex and town homes at E. Amity Road and S. Hillsdale Ave
To whom it may concern,
My name is Rachel Dyer and I am a resident of the Rockhampton neighborhood. I have recently received
notice of Challenger Development's preliminary plat plan for the corner of E. Amity Road and S. Hillsdale Ave. I
am writing to let you know that I am concerned about the plant that is NOT in line with Meridian's vision
depicted on its Future Land Use Map. If the preliminary plan isn't revised to address these concerns, this could
impact traffic safety, elementary school enrollment and over capacity and crime rates increasing. The traffic in
this area is already very busy and would just cause more congestion, speeding cars and accidents. This area
has already had multiple hit and runs and children getting hit by cars. The schools are over capacity and with
more homes/apartments in this area, would only cause more congestion and lack of ability to provide the
adequate school needs that our children deserve. Apartments would only drive our home values down and
potentially increase crime rates in the area. South Meridian is a growing community of family's that work very
hard to have these beautiful homes and beautiful area to live. This large apartment complex and town-homes
would not fall into the vision that the City of Meridian had told us they had. Challenger Development has an
opportunity here to develop something our community can truly be proud of. I hope that the plan ultimately
accepted by the City will address these concerns to better create an evolving, livable, vibrant and connected
neighborhood in line with #MyMeridianVision.
Sincerely,
Rachel Dyer
