Good Afternoon Katie,
Thank you for providing comments on a potential project next to your subdivision. At this time, the City does
not have a formal application for this specific property. If/when the application is submitted to the City and you
are within 300’ of the project boundary, you will receive notification from the City of the public hearing date
and the property owner will be responsible to place public hearing signs along all street frontages. Public
testimony will be welcomed at that time.
Sincerely,
Bill Parsons, AICP | Planning Supervisor

Subject: Concern about new construction
Hi there,
I just received notification that a large number of apartments and houses are going to be constructed near my
neighborhood of Century Farms.
Although I am not opposed to growth, it is very important that we have adequate school space before more
houses are built in this area. Already there are concerns of whether or not there will be space for my daughters
to attend Hillsdale which is the elementary school that is walking distance from my house. There is discussion
that they may need to be bussed outside the neighborhood and if they get to attend school near us it is likely that
they will only be able to do part time kindergarten because the school is already at capacity.
Before this construction begins I also feel like strong consideration should be made for how the traffic along the
road by the YMCA is managed. That area becomes a bottleneck and I have very nearly gotten in several
accidents trying to pull into our subdivision because people are way out onto the street trying to see to get out.

I suggest that a new school or elementary school south of Overland must be open and built before construction
proceeds and that a stoplight be out up on the intersection of Amity and the road by the YMCA (hillsdale
Ave? I'm not sure the name of this road).
The email i received from my HOA is attached for reference. Please email me back or call me with any
questions or if there is any other way I can participate in the decision making and research process.
