Amity and S. Hillsdale Ave Brandon, Thank you for your email. As this issue you describe will likely come before the City Council and I as part of a public hearing, I – as well as Council – are not able to make comments regarding the land use issue outside of that process. I have copied our City Clerk to this email so that your email and this response can be included as part of the record should this item move forward. Respectfully, Mayor Robert Simison City of Meridian All e-mail messages sent to or received by City of Meridian e-mail accounts are subject to the Idaho law, in regards to both release and retention, and may be released upon request, unless exempt from disclosure by law. 1 From: Brandon Smith <bransmith12@gmail.com> Sent: Friday, June 12, 2020 8:08 AM To: Robert Simison <rsimison@meridiancity.org> Subject: Fwd: Challenger Development - Corner of E. Amity and S. Hillsdale Ave Hello Mayor Simison- I was recently notified of a proposed high density housing project near the YMCA on E. Amity and Hillsdale in South Meridian. I request that you as an elected official of the people reject this proposed zoning change and allow any owner of the property to build only as currently zoned. As a homeowner, taxpayer, and resident of Meridian, I based my home purchase on the master plan Meridian had developed with great discpline. I would encourage you to keep with that master plan, much thought was invested in it and it helps to properly distribute the influx of people and business in our area. Any owner should have the legal and rightful opportunity to build on that land, but please restrict this development to be built according to how the land is currently zoned. Thank you for your consideration. Brandon Smith 208-709-1881 2
