Hi Natalie,
Thank you for your email. As this issue you describe will likely come before the City Council and I as part of a
public hearing, I – as well as Council – are not able to make comments regarding the land use issue outside of
that process. I have copied our City Clerk to this email so that your email and this response can be included as
part of the record should this item move forward.
Hope all is well and have a great day!
Mayor Robert Simison
City of Meridian

Hi Robert, It's Natalie. I'm sure you have heard from many residents in our area about the zoning meeting we
were notified about. Everyone is super concerned. I am throwing my opinion out there and sent it to planning
but figured I should let you know too. -- nat
We were recently notified of the preliminary plan for the land on the southeast corner of E Amity Rd and S
Hillsdale Ave to be developed by Challenger Development.

I am writing to let you know I am concerned about the amount of people who would be added to the area.
Hillsdale Elementary is already at max capacity, children living in the neighborhood are currently being bussed
to other schools. Where will these children go to school?
I am also concerned about adding so many cars to the area. We have a one lane, each direction road - Amity
and the intersection at Hillsdale Ave is already busy at certain times of the day. We do not have a light to come
out of the neighborhood and it's difficult to get in and out. Adding 204 apartments, 151 townhomes/houses
will significantly add to the amount of cars in the area.
I hope that the plan ultimately accepted by Meridian City will address these concerns.
Sincerely, Natalie Schofield
