Dear Ms. Perrault,
My name is Amanda Donkersloot and I am a resident of Century Farms Neighborhood. I have
recently received a notice of Challenger Developement’s preliminary plat plan for the Corner of
East Amity Road and South Hillsdale Avenue. I am writing to let you know that I am concerned
That this plan is not in line with the Meridian’s Vision depicted on the future land-use map. This
plan also exasperates already existing elementary school enrollment and capacity issues, we
already have to bus our kids to different schools because of these existing issues. Adding another
204 unit apartment complex with another 151 townhomes or single-family homes on the
property is disastrous and poor planning, especially after defunding the existing school
budget. It also raises traffic and safety concerns that a company high density dwellings with the
pre-existing plans that I’ve already been set in motion for building in this area. If the preliminary
plan isn’t revised to address these concerns this could impact our community greatly especially
the value of our homes will plummet. Challenger development has an opportunity here to
develop some thing our community can be truly proud of instead of being greedy and trying to
build the biggest bang for their buck. I hope that the plan ultimately excepted by the city will
address these concerns to be better create in the evolving, livable, vibrant, and connected
neighborhood in line with #myMeridianvision
Thanks!

Amanda,
Thank you for your email. As this issue you describe will likely come before the City Council and I as part of a public
hearing, I – as well as Council – are not able to make comments regarding the land use issue outside of that process. I
have copied our City Clerk to this email so that your email and this response can be included as part of the record should
this item move forward.
Respectfully,
Mayor Robert Simison
City of Meridian
