Proposal for Meridian Art Walk
Proposal - an area is decided upon; several artists are located at different locations
within the area, in small “kiosks”, approx 6x6, with some of their creations on sale,
perhaps painting or demonstrating their style, etc.; people at the event come by the
kiosks and chat, view, and perhaps buy. There are different activities you can add, eg,
have the visitors check in, and give them a checklist with all the artists names, and as
they visit each artist they get a stamp or sticker or just a check from the artist. And when
all the kiosks have been visited we could have them enter their completed checklist into
a drawing or drawings for an art giveaway - I’m sure I could talk the artists into
contributing something, and if not I have some things that would work. And it would be
cool to have something for the kids as well - still thinking about that.
I was thinking maybe 10-12 artists, assuming we can get that many. I have asked two
friends already and they said yes - so with me that’s three so far. At this point I don’t see
any costs for the city. I’m willing to be the check in person for the artists to get them set
up at kiosks, and check in people as they get ready to do the art walk, and probably
other stuff :).
