HomeMy WebLinkAbout2020-04-30 Traffic Trip Generation Study February 28, 2018 Matt Schultz Schultz Development PO Box 1115 Meridian, ID 83680 RE: Tanner Creek Subdivision Meridian, ID Dear Mr. Schultz: As requested, we have reviewed the site for the above referenced project and estimated trip generation for the proposed land uses compared to the previously proposed land uses. This letter will summarize our findings. The previously proposed land use was for retail development. Estimated trip generation for this development was obtained from the ACHD staff report dated March 5, 2008. The report indicates this development is estimated to generate approximately 10,300 vehicle trips per day (VTD) and 975 vehicles in the PM peak hour at buildout. The trip generation estimated from the final plan can be estimated using the procedures recommended in the Trip Generation Manual, 9th edition, published by the Institute of Transportation Engineers. This is the procedure we used in our study November 8, 2017. However the final number of units has changed since submission of that report. Using these procedures and the final number of units, we estimate that the site will generate approximately 3,019 vehicle trips per day and 296 vehicles in the PM peak hour. A copy of the calculations is attached. In summary, the proposed development plan will generate only 29% of the daily traffic, and 30% of the PM peak hour traffic, as the previously proposed land uses. Should you have any questions, please call. Sincerely, Daniel A. Thompson, P.E.
