COMPASS has developed this review as a tool for local governments to evaluate whether land developments are consistent with the goals of Communities in Motion 2040 2.0 (CIM 2040), the regional long-range transportation plan for Ada and Canyon Counties. This checklist is not intended to be prescriptive, but rather a guidance document based on CIM 2040 2.0 goals. Recommendations This proposal exceeds growth forecasted for this area and transportation infrastructure may not be able to support the new transportation demands. However, the location is an infill site in an employment-centric area, with thousands of jobs within a mile of the site. Additionally, it is within a walkable or bikeable distance to Major Activity Centers, like downtown Meridian. This location may reduce trip length and encourage bicycle and pedestrian use. This location is not currently served by public transportation. ValleyConnect 2.0 proposes a bus route along Meridian Road from downtown Kuna to northwest Boise, which will have 20-minute frequencies in the peak hours. The closest bus stop would be less than 1/4 mile in distance when that route is operational. The proposal includes several open spaces, pathways to provide internal circulation, a pathway along the Ten Mile Creek, and a pedestrian bridge to the east to provide connectivity to Meridian Road.
