To the P&Z Commission, Mayor, and City Council;
I have just become aware of the P&Z staff recommendation to open up N Dashwood Place as permanent through street.
This is against all of the residents of Alpine Pointe Subdivision input and the recommendation by ACHD that it be made
an emergency only access point.
Alpine Pointe is already over connected as it stands and making N Dashwood Place a through street would turn it into a
commercial collector street that it was never meant to be. The very high density mixed use developments to the south
that are connected into the Delano Subdivision, combined with the high density commercial already in place, would
dump 100s if not 1,000s of cars into a what should have been a cul d sac. The P&Z staff have it very, very wrong and
should have followed ACHD and the developers plan for emergency access only.
The Delano developer has already agreed to make this an emergency access only point and it is unbelievable that P&Z
staff have gone against the Alpine Pointe residents, ACHD, and the developer. The staff should be ashamed of their
recommendation as it is a gross error in judgement for which there should be reprimands.
When people purchased their original homes in Alpine Pointe this was not a designated through street and became so
after the subdivision development. That is, it was never marked to become a through street.
I would strongly encourage the P&Z commission to strike this staff recommendation and follow the input from the
Alpine Pointe residents and the developer for emergency access only.
