To the Honorable Robert Simison, Mayor,
In reference to the Delano Subdivision AZ, CPAM, PP H-2019-0027 and the updated plat submitted recently by
Boll Cook LLC.
My wife and I are citizens of the City of Meridian living in the Alpine Point subdivision and I believe we are
being denied the opportunity to attend the upcoming Meridian Planning and Zoning Public Hearing on March
19, 2020. I am age 70 and have diabetes. My wife is age 67 and has chronic bronchitis. Your own advice and
guidance states that we should not attend this hearing.
Please note the following excerpts from this communication from the City of Meridian:
CITY OF MERIDIAN
NEWS RELEASE: Saturday, March 14, 2020
\[Second Paragraph\] “Following guidance provided by Central District Health’s Interim Guidance for Mass
Gatherings and Public Events in Idaho, the City of Meridian has made the decision to cancel or postpone a
number of upcoming special events hosted by the City. These changes are in an effort to protect the health and
safety of residents, visitors, and staff. All City sponsored events taking place through April 15, 2020, meeting
the guidelines below, will be affected:”
\[Third Bullet Point\] “The event’s primary audience includes or may expose high-risk populations, including
adults over the age of 60 years and people with underlying chronic medical conditions like heart or lung disease
or diabetes, regardless of the number of attendees.”
A majority of the adults in the Alpine Pointe subdivision fall within this guideline and will likely be deterred
from attending this upcoming meeting.
Over the last two-plus years, a high percentage of Alpine Pointe residents (consistently between 50 and 90)
have attended and participated in the public hearings pertaining to the proposed Delano Subdivision H-2019-
0027. This project is scheduled to be heard again at Meridian Planning and Zoning Public Hearing on March
19, 2020. If residents cannot attend, it cannot truly be a “public hearing”.

Please follow your own guidance and cancel this meeting or postpone it until a time that all citizens can safely
attend.
