Dear Craig,
We are requesting an alternative method of compliance the Westborough plat. The north
side 3 s' buffer along Chinden Blvd. includes the sidewalk. The east and south side
patios extend into the 20' buffer, and the east and south side garages (side and back)
extend into the 20' buffer, due to the proposed design including innovative design
features based on New Urbanism, Neo-Traditional Design, or other site designs that
promote walkable and mixed use neighborhoods as noted in 11-sB-s: B. Applicability: 2.
e. The design includes a site layout with on street parking with bulb-outs, sidewalks, and
street trees as opposed to parking lots to access the multi-family units. This centrally
focused design creates more pedestrian oriented, neighborly interaction while shifting the
buildings and garages to the perimeter.
We will comply with the intent of the buffering requirements by providing a 6' Vinyl
privacy fence along both eastern and southern property lines along with additional tree
and shrub plantings. The density of additional tree and shrub plantings will be
substantially greater than code requires. This will also reduce the `dead space' between
backs of garages and property lines.
