Subject: Blue Marlin MI 06-008, AKA Centrepoint Marketplace and now the Brickyard Apartments
Just a share of how quickly things change in Meridian. In bold and terse language, no multi-
family was to be constructed to the northern or western boundaries for uses on the plan
known as Blue Marlin/Centrepoint Marketplace. Then the Brickyard Apts. happen, all with a
rezone application and not many neighbors in the know to protest, because citizens did not
know of the plans to change from retail/commercial to multi-family.
Interestingly, on the Brickyard app of the future (2015? 2016?), they tried to place a storage
facility at the “family center” pad adjacent to the Brickyard (former Fig Village APTs).
On a similar project (near Movado) there were many neighbors upset at the Silverstone Apts.
by Movado at Overland because they were shown retail/commercial/office north of their
home sites by developers, and DevCo sold the rights to the pad to apartment developers. The
apartment developers tried to change some of the pads to multi-family. Homebuyers
protested. The applicant withdrew the apartment plan.
So, when we bought there was a much different plan in place, and from the rumor mill when
we had chosen our homes.
