Locust Grove subdivision changes
Message:
I am writing with concerns about the many different answers I have received about the proposed
changes to our sub division. I have lived at my home for 41 years. I raised my sons who all
attended Meridian High School, in a large yard that they and their friends could play football,
soccer and camp outs. I have raised a garden that has supplied my family and my neighbors for
years. We have enjoyed the area with its advantage of being so close to down town and away
from the stress of big city life. My grandchildren now come to play football and soccer and help
in the garden. It has always been a way of life in Meridian that we have been proud of. We
would really like it to stay that way. My son who lives in Utah told me of some changes there
that changed 1 acre subdivisions to multiple use. This is what has happened, up to 4 houses have
3
been added to lots, with just one exit to the road and little parking 2. Some have added rental
complexes with as many as 4 units with 4 families in each, results no parking, difficult and
dangerous access the larger roads with many accidents. The whole neighborhood fell apart with
these issues. Now the City and County are trying to address roads, access to larger roads, illegal
parking , crime and congestion... after the fact.
I really don't want to see our beautiful Meridian Area become a worst place to live in Idaho. I
hope you do too.
Thank you for your service to this community and a listening ear.
