Lots 5 and 6, Block 1 of Timothy Subdivision
Dear Shari:
Per my discussion with Meridian staff, consent (to ACHD) to vacate a "future street" must be
approved by Meridian City Council. Therefore, on behalf of Overland Storage, LLC (Mike
Bledsoe and John Grunenwald), we are submitting this request for'a ,eonsent to vacate the furore
streets located within Lots 5 and 6, Block 1 of Timothy Subdivision, The site is generally 900 ft.
west of Locust Grove Rd'. on the north side of Overland Rd. Overland Storage, LLC owns Lots, 5
and 6, Block 1 of Timothy Subdivision.
The property has a final plat pending for Pack It Up Subdivis0n (formerly Overland Mini-Storage
Subdivision). The final plat has been signed and certified by, all agencies (inCluding ACHD) except
the Ada County Surveyor, Ada County Treasurer, and Ada County Recorder. At this point the Ada
County Surveyor .has required the 'vacation of the future unopened streets within the existing
Timothy Subdivision before he will sign and certify the Pack It Up. Subdivision Final Plat. There
are no existing utilities or improvements within the future streetareas.
The Timothy Subdivision doesn't proVide any bearings or distances for the "future streets."
Therefore, an exact metes and bounds description of the "future streets" cannot be prepared.- A'
description of the future streets wight be:
The' 50 foot wide strips of public right-of-way .dediCated as future street rights-of-way
located with the property lines of Lot 5 and 6, Block 1 of Timothy Subdivision, according to
the official plat thereof as filed in Book 31 of Plats at Page ! 924, records of Ada County,
Idaho; and lying in a portion 0fthe SE1/4 of the SE1/4 of Section 18. TownShip 3 North,
Range 1 East, Boise Meridian, City of Meridian, Ada County, Idaho.

Was the City of Meridian approval really in the year 2000?
Remove old lot line between Lot 5 and 6, Timothy Subdivision. It is a confusing line.
Remove symbol in the legend for existing ~--asc, mont.
Field check results: Let us know when the monuments are visible and ready for
inspection.
If any new mylars are plotted please enclose old mylars with plat and label "Void",

Dear Craig md Clinton:
You've both aslced for more information from this off~ce regarding the proposed Pack It Up
subdivision. Craig, on March 13 you asked Jack Clark for input on whether any vacation of
existing public right-of-way needs to take place. Clinton, on March 14 you asked Tcrri
Raynor for a letter from our office indicating that the "Future Streets" axe not recognized as
dedicated right-of-way.
First, I would like to make olear to you exactly wha! our role is in the subdivision proems,
At some point in file platting process, various county and/or city officials approve a
proposed subdivision plat. Ada County Highway Di$1rict officials approve the plat and
acc~t any dedications. The Health Department is also in there somewhere
Then, the plat goes to Jolm Priester, Ada County Surveyor/Bngineer, of file Development
Services Department. He sends Terri Raynor a copy of it, Terri reviews it to check the
~xterior boundaries, the owncrslfip, and any other issues that might b~ of conccm to the
Assessor's office. Part oftl~at process is to identify affected parcel numbers. She then sends
comments back to John.
John may or may not require compliance with issues raised by Ten'i~it's his call.
When John has signed the plat (as required by Idaho Code 50-1305), it is r~leased to the
developer/surveyor/agent, who brings it to us. We then confirm that there have been no
boundary or ownership changes since Terri made her comments. If there are no new
problems, Terri signs her review sheet.
The plat and Terri's review sheet then go to the Treasurer, who makes sure that all taxes are
paid on the affected parcels, and then signs it (as required by Idaho Code 50-13~)8( 1 )). It
then goes to the R~corder, who signs it (as required by Idaho Code 50-1310).
The Assessor does not sign the plat, The role of his/our office is strictly advising,
Second, let me (re)state what the Assessor's records show about thc parcels underlying the
proposed subdivision. Our old paper maps (used for deed processing until S~tembcr 1999)
were written over a copy of the plat of Timothy Subdivision, which showed both the original
large lots and the future lots and right-of-way, and which showed (in a different part of the
subdivision) a prior ACHD vacation of a "Future Street". You received a copy of that map.
Our GI$ parcel maps (used for various assessment purposes since 1992, and our only
present maps) show ollly the original large lots; however, part of our GIS mapping system is

copy of the (3IS parcel map. Our assessment record on the parcel tllat underlies the
proposed subdivision (parcel R$461250361) is based o1~. the original large lot acreages, with
no deduction or allowance for public right of way, I don't thinlc you asked for that, bm it's
attached.
Third, [et me review Terri's conunents to Jolm Priester on file proposed Pack It Up
subdivision. She said ownership was OK, closure was OK, owners' certificate matched the
plat, and she saw a discrepancy with bearings on an 'adjacent subdivision. You have a copy
of those comments.
With those three ~tings in mind, let me answer Craig's question to Sack, and Clinton's
question to Terri. I stand by Terri's commenls to John: for assessment purposes, there is no
problem with ownership on tile proposed plat,
Guys, that's as straight an answer as I can give you. None ofus in this office arc attorneys,
and we don't h~ow for allpurposes if: 1) there is existing public right-of-way or 2) any
vacation of dedicated rt~lht of way needs to take place, For Assessor's Office purposes, the
p~x~poscd subdivision looks OK as is; that's what Tcrri's comments say. For Development
Services purposes, it's. John Pricster's call,
