Subject:Meridian Master Plan
Greetings:
I read the Meridian master Plan and I am concerned about the industrial zoning in the area north of
Franklin, west of Black Cat, east of McDermott, and south of the railroad tracks. I have lived at 5947 El
Gato Lane for nearly twenty years.
El Gato Lane is a platted residential subdivision with all building lots developed. I believe that it would be
better to surround the El Gato neighborhood with residential development. El Gato Lane is a peaceful
neighborhood in an increasingly chaotic city.
Ada County made choices regarding future development when the exiting subdivisions and building lots
were approved through the years. I believe that the City of Meridian should honor the past choices and
approvals. I do not believe that it is appropriate to destroy existing residential neighborhoods by planning
for industrial development adjacent to residential neighborhoods.
I suggest that the area bounded by Franklin, Cherry, Black Cat, and McDermott be classified as low density
residential or medium density residential to preserve the character of the established

neighborhoods and to offer future Meridian residents some diversity in housing choices.
