Proposed Warrick high density subdivision

Dear Mayor and City Council
We do not want 4,400 sq ft lots? R-8 zoning behind our home. High density is not the answer for a wonderful place
such as Meridian. Please don’t ruin the character of our neighborhood.
We recently purchased a home last September on S. Twilight Mist Way in the Whitebark neighborhood using our
life’s savings.
Our property abuts the proposed Warrwick subdivision on the north side of E. Scrubpine. We wish to express our
objection to the proposed stepped up R8 multi-family zoning in this area.
The original plans for lower density R4 housing was a major decision in our purchase in Whitebark on the eastside of
Twilight Mist and south of East Scrubpine. We were looking forward to living in a quiet neighborhood, amongst
other single family homes in character with the rest of the Whitebark community.
To now change plans by stepping up zoning to accommodate higher density construction of row houses, duplexes,
and multiple family dwellings raises many concerns about public safety, overcrowding, and undermining property
values. We do not look forward to looking at a row of houses out our backyard and dealing with traffic short-cutting
through our neighborhood to get to Amity. The width of our lot is narrow as it is. The proposed lots behind our home
would have three boundary lines within our lot. This is wrong. Please bring it back to the R-4 it was mandated at
when we purchased our home.
We purchased our home based on the R4 zoning and hope that the Council will live up to that plan.
Thank you from the owners on Twilight Mist.
