PROJECT
EXPERIENCE
As a graphic designer and public artist I've created
several public art installations and large sign projects in
Boise and Meridian.
I believe public art should be rooted in its particular
place, responding in a meaningful and distinct way to
the community, and to its natural and built
environment. I'm drawn to projects that provide art that
is free and accessible.
Using materials like steel and aluminum, I partner with
the best local craftsmen to bring my art installations to
life. I often pepper my work with organic forms,
textures, and vibrant color palettes.
I've chosen 4 examples as representations of similar
work and scope to this Meridian Park project.
Thank you!

FLUSHING PHEASANTS
Keith Bird loved the thrill of flushing pheasants out of the reeds, and that was the inspiration
behind this metal sculpture in Keith Bird Legacy Park. The plasma -cut checkerboard pattern
inside the reeds was inspired by Keith's love of the Meridian Speedway. Custom glass accents in
the pheasant wings reflect his career in the glass business. The park's entry sign is two giant 12'
pheasant feathers. Photos by Cassie Phippen.

Finch Tower serves as a landmark book -ending Rhode's skatepark. With the gantois pattern,
color, and skeletal letters, it combines elements from the public art team's other park designs
into one recognizable 22' tall totem. Finch Tower is topped by a yellow goldfinch, Glenn
Rhode's favorite bird. The wings will flutter on windy days. An interpretive panel tells the story
of Glenn Rhodes and the skatepark and also recognizes the history of the community murals. A
sculptural goldfinch also reads the information.
