Thank you for taking time to share your thoughts and comments with your local elected leaders. As your Mayor, I
appreciate hearing what is on your mind and heart. I know your City Council members appreciate you weighing in as
well and sharing your opinion on the issues that they will be making decisions on.
Because this project is part of an open application, our City Council members are prohibited from commenting
outside the public hearing. We take public feedback seriously and want you to know that we have received your

Subject: I support the Linder Village proposal
Dear Meridian City Council & Planning Officials:
I urge your strong support for the Linder Village proposal. This mixed-use proposal will create an exciting
new atmosphere for shopping and dining that the community will enjoy as well as a new residential
neighborhood close to amenities in high demand.
The Meridian Comprehensive Plan recommends services such as grocery stores within walking distance of
residential communities. The Comprehensive Plan also urges the provision of housing options close to
employment and shopping centers. Linder Village is supportive of these guidelines.
This proposal is also an opportunity for private development to facilitate road improvements that the
corridor needs. The traffic improvements that are included as part of the Linder Village proposal will help
increase mobility and safety for drivers and pedestrians at and around one of the corridor's major arterial
intersections.
Finally, Linder Village will promote economic development to position Meridian for success for decades to
come. The proposal will create jobs and generate substantial tax revenue to help fund vital City services.
Existing businesses will also benefit from opportunities to attract new customers living at Linder Village.
Ultimately, Linder Village is a proposal that will proudly serve the community, and I urge your strong
support to help ensure this project becomes a reality.

Good Afternoon, Mayor Tammy and City Council Members,
Prior to the meeting tomorrow evening, I'd like to address a statement that was made at the Dec 18th meeting.
When council was deciding if the LV application should be continued, one member mentioned how continuing
would be a good idea because whichever side "lost" might not feel like it was a fair hearing. I understand
sometimes remarks are just made off hand and it's hard to find the right words in a moment, but I want to
clarify that (at least our group) has never felt like this was an US vs. THEM scenario. We have wanted to
collaborate with the developer since Day 1. Unfortunately, they refused. Since the January 18th meeting, they
have not reached out to neighbors at all, except via Facebook, asking for Winco support.
The developer still does not have an agreement with Brighton or responded to residents' concerns. These
were the two items council asked them to accomplish.
We hope that residents can still collaborate with the city to make this a great development. While the concept
plan has changed, those changes were only made because Costco pulled out and council required the

However, I'm not naive enough to believe that can happen. Personally, I do not think Phase 2 will be built out
with the plaza or that the residential will stay R-8 behind me, so we plan to make our home a rental or sell it in
two years (my son will graduate then). I hope that whatever ends up going there will serve Paramount well in
the end.
Ty, I really appreciate the note that you read my previous email. I hope council will review that email and Joe
Marshall's email from last week. We will not have time to address their contents tomorrow during the hearing.
I attached several examples of mixed use communities and walkable communities. I also rearranged their plan
a bit to show that we would like transitions from patio homes to townhomes to office/retail space to then the big
footprint stores. Even if Winco was it's own little node, the east portion could be a great mixed use community.
I'm currently on the comp plan steering committee and we are working on making sure we have better
transitions and blending of uses. This corner would be a great place to showcase that feel.

P.S. I personally feel that ITD should allow a light at Bergman for the Foxtail residents and Fred Meyer
shopping center. The light at Fox Run should be eliminated . If Paramount residents wish to go west on
Chinden, we go out Linder anyway. Hardly anyone makes a left at that light. A light at Bergman would serve
the greatest good for the public, as long as the light at Fox Run was eliminated so the Chinden corridor
could still run smoothly. Also, I'm not sure Brighton and DMG will work out an agreement for Fox Run and
really, at the end of the day, no access at Fox Run into the commercial would keep the 55+ older community

safe and the kids going to the pool on that corner. Director is also a straight shot road, so if Fox Run is opened,
it will become a speedway.
