City Clerk 33 E Broadway Ave Suite 104 Meridian, ID 83642 Subject: City Council Meeting February 5th 2019 Warrick Subdivision (H-2018-0115) Continuation My concern is I do not want the construction of the Warrick Subdivision improvements to increase the flood plain our property from the established FEMA floodplain map as it stands today. I expressed my concern at the January 2nd City Council meeting. In response to my concern, Matt Schultz, representing Berkeley Building Company, said that they would replace the culvert on Amity Road and the culvert downstream. He said doing so would reduce the flood plain to the banks of Ten Mile Creek, which would reduce the flood plain on our property, and there would be no cost to us. I want to insure these commitments made by Matt Schultz representing Berkeley Building Company at the January 2nd 2019 Meridian City Council meeting are included in the approval process for this subdivision. Thank you, Steven and Kathy Stark 12/12/2018 Steven and Kathy Stark 2630 E Amity Rd Meridian, ID 83642 To: City Of Meridian City Council Attn. City Clerk 33 E Broadway Ave Suite 104 Meridian, ID 83642 Subject: City Council Meeting January 2nd 2019 Warrick Subdivision (H-2018-0115) We have a house and three acres at 2630 E Amity Road, across the street from the proposed subdivision. The proposed new stiff leg boxed culvert is on the southern border our property. Presently there is an approximately 40 inch culvert under Amity Road that conducts water to our property. Likewise there is an approximately 40 inch culvert just off the west border of our property. Our concern is the engineered plans for the Warrick subdivision show a larger culvert under Amity Road, which would increase the capacity of water flow onto our property. The plans reference evaluating the new flood plain after the new culvert is installed, but do not reference any plan to increase the size of the downstream culvert. We are asking the City Council to verify there are plans and processes in place to ensure the flood plain is not increased on our property . Thank you, Steven and Kathy Stark 00 O (D
