Subject: concerns of a Paramount parent
To the mayor and the city council,
I've always been supportive of a Winco being built nearby but I have NEVER wanted traffic to be diverted
through our neighborhood (not even temporarily) my kids safety means more to me than the convenience of
a 24 hour store on hand!!!
As a mother of 7 children living in the Paramount subdivision I have concerns about the safety of my
children as they walk to and from school (which they all do every school day). We chose the Paramount
subdivision because of it's proximity to schools and because health challenges did not allow me to drive a
car for long stretches of time. Living in Paramount for the past 3 years has been our little piece of
neighborhood heaven for my kids. And with their Mother's health struggles it has been just what they
needed!! Having my children walk and ride bikes with their peers daily is such a blessing and 50000 good
for the neighborhood children! It's a healthy option for them to walk and bonds them with their classmates
at Paramount Elementary, Heritage Middle School and Rocky Mountain HS. I can't say enough about how
much health and camaraderie with peers means to the parents in Paramount. That said, I don't want anything
to happen that could change their level of safety due to traffic in our neighborhood.
For these reasons I'm asking that you do not approve annexation, even with conditions UNTIL the collector
road is finalized.
Please do not allow Bergman road to connect to the collect road! At least not during Phase one! At the very
least can their be safety/traffic controlling measures in place to protect my children's safety.
I also think lot 16 should be required to be built in phase one and a sound barrier needs to be in place to keep
our neighborhood the family friendly place it is. Maybe Winco can create a sound barrier?? Or their delivery
trucks can be prevented from loading and unloading after 11 PM or before 6AM?
My main concern is for the safety of my children. Paramount has HUNDREDS of kids walking to and from
school. It's a beautiful sight to see! I'd hate to see that change!
Thanks for all your hard work on behalf of the city! I didn't speak up in resistance to a Winco because I like
the idea of having one nearby for convenience BUT I always believed the city would ensure that our kids
safety isn't put at risk. Please don't let that be compromised.
Thank you for your time!
