I urge you to both approve the proposed annexation and grant a conditional use permit to build the Owyhee High school. West Ada School District has been struggling with capacity issues due to the strong residential growth in Meridian in recent years. The bond measure which made the Owyhee High School project possible was approved by a majority of voters. The voters clearly see the need for another high school that will both alleviate overcrowding in some adjacent high schools and fill the need for the new houses in developments that have been approved by the City of Meridian. It is very important to get this school built on time due to the overcrowding issues that are very difficult for West Ada to both prepare for and mitigate. The Meridian City Council has the opportunity to approve this project and help build a community to be proud of. Please support education where it is needed and approve the proposed annexation and grant a conditional use permit to build the Owyhee High school. Thank you for your time.
