Subject:Timber Creek Recycling
Hello~
My husband, Greg Hatch, and I were in the process of making an offer on a home that is being affected by the
impending expansion of Timber Creek Recycling Plant.
The home we wish to purchase is $445,000, in the Patagonia Subdivision between Columbia and Hubbard Rd, and
Locust Grove and Meridian Road. It is 7/10ths of a mile from the Recycling Plant.
We told our builder about this problem, he was NOT aware of it. We did NOT make the offer we were planning to
make last Wednesday, Sept. 26, 2018 We understand that if the Meridian City Council does NOT reverse it’s decision
at the next meeting, Timber Creek Recycling will be allowed to expand their facility. This will enable them to process
commercial wood waste and further expand, even beyond their current 29 acres if they so desire. The current
processing of plants (including onions) has already made current neighbors sick, and caused a horrible smell in the
area. We will absolutely NOT purchase an expensive home in this area, if the city council doesn’t overturn this
decision.
We will also tell prospective buyers in the Patagonia subdivision (Kuna) NOT to purchase homes in this area. This
is real problem and appears that Meridian doesn’t care about this issue, since it is on the very edge of Meridian and
will effect Kuna residents.
Please reconsider, as we would like to purchase in this area, and have our family be able to enjoy the outdoor
amenities of this subdivision, in a healthy environment. There WILL be lawsuits (at least 2 neighborhood groups
that I’m aware of from existing nearby residents) coming your way if this is NOT overturned.
Thank you for your consideration.
