Subject: Owyhee
Hello,
I am a parent to three children, two of whom attend school in the West Ada school district and one more to attend
in two years.
This future high school is sorely needed! My children will not be attending a high school that is bursting at the
seems. If my husband and I have to pay for them to attend a private high school, then so be it. However, having been
an educator in the public school system for 15 years (Nampa), I believe in our public schools and wish for my children
to keep on attending schools in West Ada.
For members of the Meridian City Council to deny or delay the building of Owyhee High School, is hurting the
children of West Ada. Teaching and learning is difficult enough with having to pinch pennies but when overcrowded
schools are thrown into the mix and when it could be prevented, it is unacceptable.
I sincerely hope the members of the Meridian City Council approve moving forward with the building of Owyhee to
accommodate the growing number students. It’s absolutely in the best interest of the students and the teachers!
Sincerely,
Nicole Etcheverry-Sarkany
