From: LINDSEY YUNDT [JNLYUNDT@msn.com] Sent: Monday, October 01, 2018 11:09 AM To: citycouncil Subject: Owyhee HS To the Meridian City Council, Before your P&Z vote tomorrow regarding the new Owyhee High School please consider this information: The location at Ustick and McDermott was selected by a committee of parents and administrators from all 54 schools to relieve overcrowding at Eagle High School and Rocky Mountain High School. This location was also carefully selected to absorb the more than 2,000 students that will arrive in the area as the more than 8,700 approved home sites in the Meridian High attendance area are built. On a more personal note, our kids would attend this new high school, and the proposed location would be helpful for us. Currently, we would have to travel east and west to get to their high school, and all east/west traffic routes in Meridian, Star, and Eagle during morning and afternoon times are absolutely jam packed. The proposed location would allow for north/south travel for our family and many others, as well as west/east travel (opposite of most of the traffic). The location of Ridgevue HS in the Vallivue School District seems to have been built in a similarly not-yet-developed area in anticipation of their district's growth, and getting to and from that school is seamless in this transition time. This seems to be a proactive move on the part of the West Ada School District, and a denial of this proposed location will force them into a more reactive situation, which they don't have time for. Right across the street from us, for example, are 242 homesites that will be build in the next two years - the growth West Ada is experiencing is too explosive to delay. Trust the research done by the district and their many, many stakeholders, and approve their application for annexation and construction of Owyhee High School in their proposed location. Thank you, Lindsey Yundt
