Good morning,
As a member of the March 2018 Bond Committee, I was able to participate in the site selection process from
start to finish. I sat through meetings where our patrons and administrators evaluated the options in front of
them, reaching a decision that the site in West Meridian was best for our students. The West Meridian site
provided the highest opportunity for over-crowding relief at Rocky Mountain HS and Eagle HS and was also
located in a area in which future growth is anticipated - growth that the City has approved.
Once the site was identified by the Committee, we could then move forward with the bond campaign, in
which we informed every patron in the District the location of the proposed high school and the expected
outcomes for our students - positive student learning outcomes. One only has to drive by Rocky Mountain
HS at 2:45 pm and see what our students are facing. The Bond was passed by over 67% of the patrons,
indicating support for the planned HS location.
I urge you to vote for annexation of the site in to the City of Meridian on Tuesday, October 2. Your patrons
supported the measure and our kids are depending on you.
