I understand that the Meridian Planning and Zoning Commission recommended denial of this on September 6th. but the Meridian City Council can approve it. The overcrowding at the high schools in the West Ada district is out of control, and this location was selected by a committee of parents and administrators from all 54 schools. It wasn't randomly picked, and the bond was approved by the voters to build the school - materials were mailed to us prior to the vote, and the bond measure was approved. We did not approve it to have the location recommendation denied. We are busting at the seams in the classrooms now, this location makes sense. In 2016 Meridian was the 13th fastest growing city in the country. Guess what, I think the family size for this area exceeds the 2.5 kids per household, and guess what else - these kids have to go to school. Since the City Council keeps approving new homes and housing developments, they also need to have schools for these new families to go to. We need this school location approved and we need to get the building started because people are making babies and moving them to our city quicker than we can accommodate. Meridian City Council, you have the final authority to approve this and we trust you to make that right decision in favor of building the Owyhee High School. Don't let us down. We the voters approved the bon d and trusted that the bond would be used for this. The school site is well located and is needed. Thank you - I trust you will do the right thing. Respectfully, Cynthia L Breckel 2 (I live in the Rocky Mountain High school zone)
