Dear Meridian City Council,
I am writing to urge your support of the building of the Owyhee High School at Ustick and McDermott roads. I am
not sure why the planning and zoning commission feels it is acceptable to deny such an important, positive step for
our community. I imagine some resident nearby with a lot of power and money is influencing this. I hope Meridian
City Council stands strong and does what is right for the city. We all know that we are overcrowded here and our
schools are terrible because of this overcrowding. We finally have a chance for some resolution to this problem and
now this? I am just appalled that this city continues to make moves against it’s resident’s wishes. We keep
supporting all this development and then refuse to do anything about the many problems it causes? Where was the
planning and zoning commission when all these residential homesites were getting approved? We are allowing an
influx of people but then refusing to allow for public services to be built to accommodate this influx? It is completely
illogical and unreasonable to try to block the building of a school to serve all the new residents that the zoning
commission allowed to be built.
Sincerely,
Heather Brundage
Meridian city resident
