Hello,
I just wanted to take the opportunity to give my support of the Denial of the proposed Owyhee High School. I did
not vote Yes for the school bond, as I disagree with the school districts placement of the High School. A High School
is needed for growth in our city, but the placement they picked is a bad site for our current needs. We support
Planning and Zoning in their denial for that site. We need a high school built in the areas of growth, not on the edge
of the county boundary where there currently is no growth and would require further expense to bus all students to
the school. We desperately need a high school on the South Side of the Highway, this will also relieve the over
crowding issues on the north side, as students that are being bussed to the schools north of the freeway can return
to the schools closest to them on the south side. The school district currently owns land they can use for a high
school in this much needed area.
