While I respect the concerns from fire and police, I have to wonder how home sites can be approved without consideration of where the residents will shop, work and attend school. Why are you approving the annexing of more and more rural land in West Meridian for home builds yet not considering the required infrastructure? What is your plan to provide for those residents living in these new areas? Your constituents made it clear that a new high school is needed during the last bond election. A super majority voted for this specific school and its location. I would strongly urge the council to restrict further home site approval until you have developed a solid plan for the citizens in our community. Building homes and expecting the school district to play catch up with very limited funds and places to build schools is careless and short sighted. I'll be at the October city council meeting on Oct 2nd to voice my support for the new high school at Ustick and McDermott. If you reject this site, I would like to know what you propose is the school's option to reduce the overcrowding that the reckless building of homes has created.
