Subject:Owyhee High School
To Whom It May Concern,
I have four children currently attending schools in the West Ada School District. I am writing to express my
support for the Owyhee High School project. I believe the Meridian City Council should approve West Ada
School District's application to annex the previously announced and community-accepted location. I also
strongly request that the city NOT require the school district to bear the burden of development costs
adjacent to the school location (streets, curbing, etc.) as the Planning and Zoning Commission suggested.
Owyhee High School will be funded by a bond measure that was approved by 67.3 percent of voters. During
the bond election, the location of Owyhee High School was included in all the materials provided to voters,
including a mailer that was sent to every residential address in the West Ada School District. The Planning
and Zoning Commission should not have rejected the district's application for a conditional use permit,
given these facts. They did so directly against the will of the people who live in this school district.
The Meridian City Council should respond appropriately to the majority view of the people they represent.
Respectfully,
TJ Bliss
