To whom it may concern,
I am a parent in the West Ada County School District. My daughter currently goes to Ponderosa
elementary. Because of the boundary changes, she will be going to Meridian Middle and Meridian High
School. I understand why, because of the over crowding. What I do not understand is why our children
can’t be given the opportunity to not be overcrowded by giving them a new High School to thrive in. I am
one of the thousands of parents in the Meridian area that believe that our children deserve to have a High
School they will meet their needs. Our children are our future. They are our future leaders. They are our
future law makers. They are our future care takers. Let’s give them the best opportunity to achieve that in a
school where they can get the kind of education they deserve. Not in a place where they are jam packed in
like sardines and can’t get thier questions answered by the teacher.
I also explore you to build this school on behalf of the teachers in West Ada County. These teachers are
being held back on their teaching abilities because of over crowding. People get into teaching because they
love children and want to watch them succeed. Not being able to do what they love because of
overcrowding is not acceptable. Our teachers deserve a place where they can help our children grow into
the people they are meant to be. I know that I am grateful for the teachers in the West Ada District for
taking such great care of the children.
With the current growth pattern of the Valley, we need to have more schools for our children. Empty
nesters are not the only ones moving to our communities. Families with small to large children are moving
here, hoping that their children will be given the best opportunity possible. So let’s give it to them.
