Subject: Owyhee High School - Please approve!
Importance: High
Hello,
I wanted to address my concerns about Owyhee High School. We just moved to Boise from Atlanta this summer to
get back family and I can’t believe how much our city has grown. As we were looking for new homes, everyone said
to avoid Eagle and Meridian due to overcrowding of schools here. When news came out about Owyhee being built,
that was a major decision as we have 3 kids in elementary and felt that by the time they got to high school, more
schools would be added.
Avoiding the expansion is simply not right for community, the state, and most importantly… our students. The more
overcrowded the schools get, the less education and attention our kids receive. This is a major concern and one that
would make us highly consider moving to another district. We have family that teach at Boise High and Timberline
High – they warned us about the overcrowding and urged us to be in the Boise School District but we felt strongly
about this area and had faith the city would do the right thing by building enough schools to accommodate all the
families that are moving here.
As the metropolitan area continues to grow, it’s only fair that schools continue to do the same. Please expand help
our kids with building another school to alleviate all the overcrowding. The new site is located in a great location and
we need this school badly. Please approve the project!
Thank you for your consideration,
