Subject: Owyhee High School
I am writing to express support for the building of Owyhee High School at the location and in the time
frame expressed by West Ada School District. My daughter currently attends Sawtooth Middle School and
is scheduled to move to Rocky Mountain High School in 2020. Rocky Mountain is already overcrowded
and the issues with overcrowding will only be worse by the time she attends Rocky, unless a new high
school is up and running within the timeline set by the school district.
The concerns expressed by Planning & Zoning do not seem to fit with the actual growth the city is
experiencing. Especially within the area of the planned school. By 2020 the growth near the new high
school will bring another 2000 students to the city. I applaud the School District for planning ahead of the
growth for a change and placing the school in an area that will best serve the community when 2020 rolls
around.
If the City Council rejects the application for Owyhee High School I feel that it will harm our community in
the long term and cause overcrowding issues to become untenable in our schools - which in turn will hurt
my daughter's education.
Thank you for taking my voice into account.
Sincerely,
Darrell Eastburn
