Subject:Owyhee High School
To whom it may concern:
I am a parent of three children in the West Ada school district.
The school district is experiencing unprecedented growth due, at least in part, to the Meridian Planning and
Zoning Commissions' approval of development in the city of Meridian. Recognizing this, the voters
approved a bond to build a new high school and relieve overcrowding at three district high schools.
However, on 9/6, the commission recommended denial of the school district's application to build the new
high school. Unfortunately, the minutes for this meeting are not yet online, so I'm not sure why the
commission came to its conclusion. However, I must disagree with that conclusion and recommendation.
How can the commission approve new developments left and right without also approving a request to
build new educational facilities
? This is ridiculous and irresponsible.
Please move ahead with the approval of the application to build the Owyhee High School in spite of the
commission's denial.
Thank you.
