Subject: Owyhee High School
Dear Council,
I recently heard of the P&Z's decision to deny West Ada’s application to annex the Owyhee High School site into the City of
Meridian and to grant a conditional use permit to build the Owyhee High school. I disagree with the Commission's decision and
hope you will overturn the decision. It is imperative our community have the best schools in the state. To achieve this, we must
keep up with growth so that class rooms are not over crowded. This development is necessary to keep pace with current and
projected growth. The location has been well vetted and is accessed by arterial roadways (Ustick and McDermott). I do not see this
project being any different that the one the City of Nampa and the Valliview School District recently completed (Ridgeview High). If
Nampa is willing to invest in it's students, so should the City of Meridian.
Thanks in advance for your reconsideration on this matter.
