Meridian City Council,
As a parent of a Meridian High School (MHS) Senior and a MHS graduate, I feel it is very important for this new high
school to be built where it has been proposed due to the fact Meridian is continuing to allow homes and apartments
to be built in the SW and NW Meridian area. MHS has just been remodeled and will be at, if not over capacity very
soon, and Rocky Mountain High School (RMH) is over capacity and had been for years. I just received an email from
MHS stating they were adding fitness and math classes due to the increase in enrollment this year. I feel very
fortunate that my 2 children have had an outstanding education at MHS. We moved from a home that was in MHS
boundaries to a house that was inside RMH boundary 3 years ago. However, we kept our 2 kids in MHS due to class
size and the teachers that truly care about the education of their students.
