Over the past two plus years this operation has grown from a pile of wood debris to mountains of debris. As stated in the proposal the mountains are 25 feet high the equivalent of a two story building. They are long and massive, and unsightly. The amount of truck traffic has increased significantly. We listen as they grind down to a stop and accelerate around the corner, gear up again, slow down and turn into the facility. Then they pull out again. The amendment states that fifty six trucks a day will be delivering to the property per day, carrying 10 or more yards or material. There is no mention of the semis coming to the facility to pick up the compost. At 10 minutes a truck that amounts to more than 9 hours of non stop trucks just delivering every day. No limits on any other vehicle entering and leaving the property. The dust is measurably more this summer than even last year. The trucks cause billows as they pull in, the dust is pluming above the piles that are being loaded. The noise has drastically increased. The fact that mufflers are being considered for the two industrial size grinders is an admission that they are too loud. In addition is all the other equipment involved in the operation, and the 65 hours a week we are subjected to that level of noise. Yes, the facility has grown. It has become a monster and if the city accepts it, there will be no limits to what and how big it will become. The proposal is open ended. Our quality of life and our property values are all being affected. We are at the mercy of Mike Murguitio. Wayne and Janet Gearhard 2
