HomeMy WebLinkAboutPZ - ITD Reply March 28, 2018 C.Jay Coles City of Meridian 33 E. Broadway Avenue Meridian, Idaho 83642 VIA EMAIL RE: H-2018-0013 CUP THE COTTAGES ASSISTED LIVING FACILITY The Idaho Transportation Department (ITD) has reviewed the conditional use permit application by ALC Architecture representing Jeff Likes for The Cottages requesting approval to construct an assisted living facility on a 1.68 acre site located north of West Everest Lane and south of US-20/26 (West Chinden Boulevard) milepost 36.93. ITD has the following comments: 1. This project abuts the State Highway system. 2. No access to the State Highway system is requested with this application and none is approved. The applicant does not appear to show any work within the State highway right-of-way. A permit must be approved before any work within the State right-of-way may begin. The applicant can contact Shona Tonkin (208-334-8341, Shona.Tonkin@itd.idaho.gov) for an application. 3. ITD has completed a corridor study of US-20/26. The corridor study shows the future corridor width will need to be 100 feet wide on each side of the centerline in this area. A view of the corridor study plan for this area can be found at: http://apps.itd.idaho.gov/apps/us2026CorridorStudy/default.html 4. IDAPA 39.03.60 governs advertising along the State highway system. The applicant may contact Justin Pond, Program Manager for ITD’s Headquarters Right-of-Way Section at 334-8832 for more information. 5. Idaho Code 40-1910 does not allow advertising within the right-of-way of any State highway. 6. ITD does not object to the construction of an assisted living facility on the parcel as presented. If you have any questions, you may contact Shona Tonkin at 334-8341 or me at 332-7190. Sincerely, Ken Couch Development Services Coordinator Ken.Couch@itd.idaho.gov
