Anna,
Just wanted to let you know that there will not be an ACHD
representative in attendance at tomorrow's meeting. For some
thought we had been notified that this meeting was cancelled,
the holidays we don't have staff available.

I wanted to provide you with some comments about Milliron Subdivision,
in case the issue comes up with Council. When ACHD received the plat
the applicant was only proposing one access to the site off of Black
Cat, none on Cherry, and the stub street connection. The applicant got
some negative feedback from the neighbors and added an access to Cherry
Lane, which was approved by ACHD. We received calls about the stub
street connection from the neighbors, but it was after our process, and
too late to appeal, so this issue may come up tomorrow. Because the
applicant is constructing two main access points, the traffic on that
stub will be minimal. It will provide a benefit to trash, emergency,
mail, delivery and general travel between the subdivisions. ACHD will
not support anything other than a public street connection because we
cannot gate public right-of-way. This should not be considered for
emergency access only. The streets in the existing sub will continue to
operate well below the planning threshold even with the connection. In
fact, most of the calls we received had to do with people not wanting
the "lower income" traffic from the new sub traveling through their
neighborhood, more than it actually had to do with traffic.
Call me if you have any other questions, or if anything comes up on any
of the other applications. I'll leave my cell phone on tomorrow night
just in case! 860-6663
