The Meridian Fire Departoient does not have any objeciions to exceed 1000' requirement on design as
presented oa the preliminatSt design dated 3/15/2002.
However the following items wall remain requireinent.s and/or concerns to provide nfinJmum levels of
fire protection for the pmpnsed project:
1. That a fire-flow of 1,000 gallons per n~inute shall be available for duration of 2 horn's to service
the enl~re project. Fire hydrants shall be placed an average of 400' apart. 1997 UFC Appendix III-A
2. Opemt/onal fa, e hydrmlts m~d tempora~T or penmnent street signs are requked before
combustible constmctiun begins. UFC 901.4.2 & 901.3
3. Acceptance of the water supply roi' fire protection will be by the Meridian
Water Department.
4. Fhlal Approval of the fa'e hyctraut locations shall be by the Mea'idian Fire Department.
5. All radii shall be 28' inside and 48' outside radius for the internal road system.
6. Insure that all yet undeveloped parcels are maintained free of combustible vegetation per
section 1103.2.4 of the Ua/form Fire Code.
7. The roadways shall be built to Ada Cmmty High. way Standards. UFC 902.2. I
8. The proposed 272-1ot subdivision with an estimated 2.9 residents per household would have a
total estnmted population of 789 residents at build out. According to a report completed by Fire &
Emergency Services Consulth~g Group hi Februal3, of 2000 om' requests for service a~e projected to reach
2800 m the year 2005 and 3800 by the year 2010, tins is up fi'om 2069 responses in the yem' 2000.
9. Any roadway greater than 150' ia length that is not provided with an outlet shall be required to
have a tm around; this requirom~nt may apply during the phasing of the project.
10. Provide one additional access road to service Great Basin, White Sands, Biscayne Park
and Melrose Park. UFC 902.2.1
