The city of Meridian needs to comply with the existing FLUM plan. I appreciate the attempt, with the
amendment to the comprehensive plan, to stop step-ups in the specified areas. I have the feeling the
‘developers’ have been in the driver’s seat for too long. Listen to the people who live in already existing
neighborhoods and who are depending on the city to keep a semblance of order to the new housing additions.
The city naturally hears all the time from these developers since that is all they do. Existing residents don’t
have the time nor the know how to constantly be at the door of the Planning and Zoning and City Council to
make our cases heard. It would be in order for the city to have community forums so there could be a counter

voice to the developers. I’ve noticed that developers like to tell others what the people think who are already
living in these areas. All they say is to echo what the developers want.
I appreciate this opportunity to comment on the City’s Com Plan.
