HomeMy WebLinkAboutPZ - ITD December 27, 2017 C.Jay Coles City of Meridian 33 E. Broadway Avenue Meridian, Idaho 83642 VIA EMAIL RE: H-2017-0149 AZ PP TURF FARM The Idaho Transportation Department (ITD) has reviewed the referenced application for annexation, zoning and preliminary plat approval for the Turf Farm located northeast of the intersection of South Eagle Road and East Lake Hazel Road, south of I- 84 milepost 46.00 for Michael Wardle representing Brighton Corporation. ITD has the following comments: 1. This project does not abut the State highway system. 2. The City is reminded that the I-84 and SH-55 (Eagle Road) corridors are already congested. This project will increase the number of vehicle trips in the corridor. As the City continues to add additional trips to the corridor through development, the congestion will worsen until the roadway system ultimately is overloaded and fails. ITD has no current funding assigned to mitigate traffic congestion in the I-84 and SH-55 (Eagle Road) corridors in this area. 3. IDAPA 39.03.60 governs advertising along the State highway system. The applicant may contact Justin Pond, Program Manager for ITD’s Headquarters Right-of-Way Section at 334-8832 for more information. 4. Idaho Code 40-1910 does not allow advertising within the right-of-way of any State highway. 5. ITD does not object to the annexation, zoning and preliminary plat being proposed for this location. If you have any questions, you may contact Shona Tonkin at 334-8341 or me at 332-7190. Sincerely, Ken Couch Development Services Coordinator Ken.Couch@itd.idaho.gov
