From: Doug Wheeler [ mailto:dougwheeler9@yahoo.com ] Sent: Sunday, November 26, 2017 9:57 PM To: Joshua Beach Subject: East Ridge Estates application (H-2017-0219) I am writing to you again about the ERE development as it comes back to the council from the P & Z. Please insist that Mr. Conger include all the items that have already been discussed in public meetings from his first application. (Feel free to revisit my letter re: the ERE dated 3/20/17) After attending a number of council meetings this year, I have concerns that the developers are "driving the bus" in Meridian. I have found that in certain cases not all development requirements have been met and the council seems willing to endorse certain exceptions. We should NOT be in any hurry to "fill up" Meridian land with more and more rooftops - especially land that has special features like the Southern Rim. The new application for ERE appears to NOT address at least two important issues: 1. Using city water to irrigate home lawns, and 2. Planned density that does not properly transition to the surrounding development. Lastly, I find it offensive to have heard at the P & Z meeting with the closing remarks that the developer made ( allowing no rebuttal) that Mr. Conger indicated that he had a number of neighborhood meetings with the Black Rock residents and that they were in favor of his development. (Only one neighbor - who was not part of Black Rock testified in this way). This statement was totally untrue and certainly slanted the decision of the P & Z.. The Mayor stated at one of the earlier meetings regarding the ERE planned development that we needed to move slowly and carefully because "We only have one chance to get it right." Thank you for time and effort in this regard. Doug Wheeler
